Flour Gold/Gold Dust: Gold that is so fine that it looks and feels like flour or dust is called flour gold or gold dust.
Hard Rock Mine: A hard rock mine is a tunnel that is dug into solid rock for the sole purpose of finding valuable or precious rocks, minerals, or metals. Gold originates deep within the earth in places called Pockets. The pockets are filled with gold, heavy ore, and quartz.
Hard Rock Mining: Hard rock mining refers to the underground mining techniques used to excavate hard minerals, mainly those minerals containing metals such as ore containing gold, copper, zinc, nickel and lead.
Placer Mining: Placer Mining is the most common form of mining, it involves mining gold that has been washed away from it’s source and deposited in small cracks, holes, or sand bars in the mainstream of a river.. It almost always involves the use of water in some way or another. Placer mining tools generally include the rocker box, sluice, dredge, highbanker, shaker table, drywasher, and always the pan.

How much? *faints*
I don’t quite "get it" from the picture. The purple part doesn’t look metallic. Does it have a brushed surface instead of a high polished finish? I am very curious. It looks like enamel so something. Tell me more, por favor.
It’s metallic but has a matt finish. Actually its a pretty bad photo as the piece was on display in a cabinet and photography was ‘discouraged’. I tried to take a photo of one of the earrings or rings but the salesman simply wasn’t having it. They also had on display a chunk of purple gold, about the size of a large chestnut to illustrate that it really is purple gold, opposed to just a coloured layer on top. Its worth a visit to Singapore just to see it
Dippingmytoes, I offered him my camera in exchange for the piece, the salesman didn’t seem interested!
so pretty!
thankyou so much for posting this for Lupus…..I treasure our friendship…x
a store here locally (Dunedin FL) sells purple gold which they make themselves.
